My name is Bustanul Arifin, born in Bangkalan, Madura, Indonesia. Currently I am Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Lampung (UNILA), Senior Economist at the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF), Jakarta and Senior Fellow in the International Center for Applied Finance and Economics at Bogor Agricultural University (InterCAFE-IPB), Indonesia. I am also a lecturer in the graduate schools of the University of Indonesia (UI) and Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). My fields of expertise include agricultural sector policy, institutional economics, environmental governance and economic development strategy. I obtained my Ph.D. in resource economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) in 1995 and a Sarjana degree in agricultural economics from IPB-Bogor in 1985. I have completed assignments as visiting scholar in the School of Geosciences at the University of Sydney (ALA Fellow, 2007-2008) and in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Fulbright Fellow, 2002-2003).
